Panerai’s latest chronograph comes in sleek black ceramic and green-dialed stainless steel.
Luxury watch brand Panerai has dropped two eye-catching new timepieces: the blacked-out Luminor Chrono Flyback Ceramica and the olive green Luminor Chrono Flyback Verde Militare.
They’re the latest entries in the special edition Chrono Complicazioni segment of Panerai, a watch family characterized by Italian design and Swiss craftsmanship aimed at nautically-inclined watch collectors.
The Luminor Chrono Flyback Ceramica features a matte black 44mm ceramic case and bezel that are lightweight, highly scratch-resistant, and retain their tactile surface and deep, saturated color.
Fans of olive green might prefer the Luminor Chrono Flyback Verde Militare. It features numerals and hour markers in white Super-LumiNovaTM that glow green in the dark, as well as central chronograph second- and minute-hands in orange for a sporty contrast.
Water-resistant to 100 meters, the Ceramica features a black alligator strap with a matte finish, a second strap in black rubber, and a trapezoidal pin buckle in titanium with DLC coating, while the Verde Militare’s alligator military green strap matches tone-on-tone stitching, combined with a green rubber second strap and a trapezoidal brushed steel buckle.
The P.9100 movement, an automatic caliber with a power reserve of three days, runs the engines of both watches. Thanks to the signature flyback function, the chronograph hands will reset and restart with one press of the pusher at eight o’clock.
A nautical tachymeter scale present on the dial allows the measurement of speed, a tool that recalls Panerai’s rich history of designing instruments for sea-centric pursuits.
Both models will be available in limited numbers: the Luminor Chrono Flyback Ceramica will be available at both Panerai brand boutiques and independent retail partners with a limited edition of only 500 pieces.
The Luminor Chrono Flyback Verde Militare is an e-commerce exclusive, available only on Panerai.com for an even more limited run of 110 pieces.
